Lucy Liu (born Lucy Liu) is an American voice actor as well as a director producer and singer. Beautiful, intelligent and skilled actress, she is an inspiration to Asian actors aspiring to become big names in Hollywood. After several appearances on popular television series, she became famous for her role on the Ally McBeal legal comedy where she portrayed Ling Woo. Following her popularity, she was offered major roles on the shows Shanghai Noon (1998) and Charlie's Angels (2000). Then, she gave an a stunning acting performance on Quentin Tarantino Kill Bill Volume 1 as Japanese crime lord O Ren Ishii. In the same period she was also in box-office failures including Rise: Blood Hunter. In animated films like Kung Fu Panda, Tinker Bell and many others, she voiced prominent characters. Mia Mason, in Cashmere Mafia and other small-screen parts, did not achieve any success. Southland's highly praised police show, Southland and a recurring role helped Liu re-establish as an established actress. Liu picks her roles with care so as to avoid being stereotyped in an industry with a lot of competition.
