Taylor Alison Swift was born on December 13th, 1989. Her discography spans many genres. Swift's songwriting, often influenced by her own life, has was praised by critics. Swift was born in West Reading and went to Nashville to become a country singer at the tender age of 14. In 2004, Swift signed a songwriting arrangement with Sony/ATV Music Publishing. She also signed a recording contract with Big Machine Records. The self-titled debut album was her debut album featuring country music. It was also the first U.S. platinum-certified album. Swift's next albums Fearless (2008) & Speak Now (2010) explored the genre of country music. The first album's "Love Story" and "You Are My Friend" were among the first songs by a country artist to be ranked on the U.S. pop and all-genre airplay charts respectively. She experimented with rock and electronic styles in Red (2012) the album that included her first Billboard Hot 100 number-one song, "We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together" and she eschews her traditional image on her synth-pop album, 1989 (2014), supported by chart-topping songs "Shake It Off", "Blank Space", and "Bad Blood". Media scrutiny inspired the urban-flavored Reputation (2017) and its number-one single "Look What You Made Me Do".
Swift left Big Machine and signed with Republic Records in 2018. In 2018, Swift released Lover (2019) which was her seventh studio album. Swift was followed by Miss Americana (2020), which is a documentary about her autobiography. She released her 2020 album Folklore as well as Evermore. The singles she released, "Cardigan", ("Willow"), and "Taylor's Version" were on the Hot 100. Swift began recording her previous six albums after an argument over the masters. She released two albums in 2021--Fearless (Taylor's Version) and Red (Taylor's Version). "All Too Well (10-minute Version)" by the latter became the longest Hot 100 song. Her 2022 album Midnights was released and the single "Anti-Hero" was the first to break the records for streaming time. Swift has also directed music videos and movies which include All Too Well: the Short Film (2021), as well as played as a supporting role in a variety of other. Swift is among the greatest-selling musicians ever. Swift has sold more than 200 million copies across the world. She is the highest-rated woman on Spotify, and the only artist with five albums on the market with more than one million copies sold in the US.
